Cottonwood Bookmarks
Friends of the Library
When you enter the Cottonwood Public Library from the parking lot, you will see an area of shelving to your right.  It is marked "Books for Sale".  These donated fiction and non-fiction books are marked at a very low price and sold during library hours.  Watch this page for additional special sales.

For an even bigger bargain, Bookmarks members selecting books from the shelves pay half the marked price.  The current single annual membership fee is five dollars and all are welcome to join.  Browse the area; a library volunteer or staff member will gladly answer your questions.

Proceeds from the book sales are used to purchase items such as computers that are not included in the library budget.  The Cottonwood Bookmarks has been the designated non-profit friends group for the Cottonwood Public Library since 1972.

The purpose of this organization is to stimulate public support for the library, to arouse interest in library services; to encourage the use of the library as a source of information and education; and to raise funds for the library.

Membership is open to any person interested in the library upon payment of annual dues.  The types of membership are classified as Single, Family, Contributing, Sponsor, Patron and Honorary Lifetime Member.  Currently, there are more than 225 members.

The business of the Bookmarks organization is conducted by an Executive Board.  The current officers are: Library Director John O'Neill; Chairman Mary Eichman; Vice-Chairman Therese DuPont; Recording Secretary Audra Christianson; Corresponding/membership Secretary Gail Bell; Treasurer Kathy Hellman; Members-at-Large Mary Wagner and Teresa Majors; Honorary Directors Julie Hammons and DeDe Ewald.  All members are welcome to attend board meetings.
